Grape, Frontenac
One of the hardiest wine grapes. Vigorous vines consistently produce abundant large clusters of small blue-black berries. Makes a full-bodied, high-quality red wine with a cherry bouquet that also hints of berry and plum. Exhibits good resistance to downy and powdery mildews. Ripens midseason. From the University of Minnesota breeding program.
