Carrot, Red-Cored Chantenay

(72 Days) These large, wide-shouldered, stump-rooted carrots have been garden favorites for more than 150 years. This heirloom has smooth roots that are 5-1/2 to 6 inches long and 2-1/2 inches thick at the crown, red-orange throughout, fine-grained and tender with sweet, delicate flavor. Produces heavy yields of well-shaped carrots even in heavier soils.
