54 Day. In our summer trial garden, this bean proved itself superior in every way. The upright plants out-yielded the comparison variety, producing an abundance of 5 1/2-6" dark green, tender pods, even during hot and dry conditions. The beans have fantastic flavor, as all Blue Lake types should, making it a top choice for home canning, pickling and freezing. Plants are resistant to rust, curly top virus and bean common mosaic virus.

Will always be a must-have!
Sep 22, 2024  |  By Mark
I'm absolutely thrilled with this new bean variety and I'm telling all my gardening friends and relations, and sharing seeds! It will be my go-to bean variety as long as they are available! I am growing in my 5 tier GreenStalk container tower garden, and the compact bushy growth is perfect for containers. The germination rate was perfect, they grew bushy and abundant, and the beans are tender and delicious! I'm often snacking while I'm picking! I am growing them again this fall, and after a slow start in August from heat and pests, every seedling took off and now they are covered with blossoms and tiny beans, to be harvested in another week or so! I highly recommend them! I'm in Zone 6b.

NOT SO SUPERIOR
Aug 9, 2024  |  By Ginny
I did not experience a "superior" Blue Lake. They performed very similar to regular Blue Lake. I like a nice straight bean, but got a lot of "C" shaped beans, likely due to the plants not staying strong and upright.
