Hearty, cold tolerant crop
Brussels sprouts are most dependably grown when started indoors 4-6 weeks before last frost. Provide plenty of water and fertilize regularly throughout the summer. Harvest in fall and winter, harvesting sprouts from the bottom of the stem first. Light frosts improve their quality and flavor. Try tossing them with olive oil and garlic then roasting them in the oven.
