Dark purple, almost black kernels are loaded with antioxidants. Developed to mature quickly and thrive in short-season areas, this highly pigmented corn grinds easily and is delicious almost any way it's used, especially in corn bread. Attractive ears are long and cylindrical. Hand-selected by Dave Christensen out of his Painted Mountain corn.

COMMENTS FROM DAVE, THE BREEDER
Oct 31, 2023  |  By Dave Christensen
My Morado has very soft flour starch and grinds easily into flour for famous cornbread or tortillas, or any other corn use. It was created because of the healing properties of the pigments. The anthocyanins (pigments) have very high antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer healing properties. This nutrient dense corn is a superfood. Eat it if you are sick, want to stay young, or if you get exposed to radiation. It heals damaged cells.
This SURVIVAL FOOD is grown dryland and has withstood years of drought without irrigation. The purpose is to feed people who live in difficult climates and those enduring global warming. It grows 4-5' tall for us dryland, without irrigation, and produces well. There is a lot of love in it! Recommended for food security seed bank. Blessings to humanity and the children of the future.
