**AAS Winner! (P.P.7982100) This purple coneflower differs from all others for flower color, branching and plant size. The deep rose-purple tones of the 3 to 4 inch flowers remain bright and clean longer on the Zone 3 hardy plants. Pow Wow Wild Berry will flower the first year from seed and is an intermediate day-length flowering variety with most rapid and uniform flowering at 14 hours. As a result, it begins blooming approximately 20 weeks from sowing. Therefore, seed should be sown before the end of January for the most prolific and uniform flowering in the first year beginning in June. The plants exhibit superior performance with heavy basal branching that results in more flowers per plant, a compact height of 20 to 24 inches and continuous blooms without deadheading.
