The 2 to 6 inch deep rose flower spires can perfume an entire garden. They emerge above dense, serrated, dark green leaves that become a blaze of yellow in fall. The compact, rounded plants grow 3 to 4 feet wide, performing best in soil that is somewhat acidic. They tolerate heat, drought, damp soils, and can handle full sun to fairly heavy shade.
