Incredibly low maintenance. This North American native cultivar is deer resistant, heat tolerant and not picky about the soil it's grown in. In early spring, stems emerge dark purple, almost black, and develop olive green leaves. Bears light blue starry flowers in later spring. Vase-shaped plants grow up to 36 inches tall and make great alternatives to shrubs. Prefers full sun to part shade.
