Our hardy raspberry plants are shipped as well-rooted, potted plants. Be sure to plant both summer bearing and fall bearing types to extend the raspberry season nearly all summer. Plant in soil that is sandy or drains well and is rich in organic matter. Locate in an area that receives sunlight for 6 hours or more. Caroline - Higher in vitamins and antioxidants than other varieties! Researchers at Ohio State University compared several varieties of raspberries and found trhat Caroline is higher in cancer-fighting antioxidants, beta carotene, and vitamins A, E and C than any other raspberry tested. The frutis are very large, firm and cohesive with an exquiste flavor that is just the right balance between sweet and tangy. An excellenet variety for southern areas as the heat responsive plants ripen at least 2 to 3 weeks earlier than Heritage and even earlier in warm seasons, resulting in larger yields over a longer period of time. Plants grow 3 feet tall and have good t olerance to Root Rot and Yellow Rust. Very vigorous, highly productive canes grow up to 6 feet tall and require sturdy support. Widely adapted, performing well all across the country. Fall bearing.
