Calgary Tulips are some of the best varieties for locations that get bad weather. I am so glad that Jung Seeds carries them!
I've had a bed of these for 3 years now. We just had the windiest, iciest, wettest spring on record for my location. It knocked my taller tulips down, but these survived intact! No damage. I was so grateful.
Couple of caveats: 1) My garden has excellent conditions for tulips in general - cold winters and hot, dry summers. So most tulips do well for me. 2) Note, this Calgary tulip is a type of Triumph tulip, so it might peter out after a few years. My Calgary tulips have come back stronger every year... and they are so awesome, I just ordered 30 more bulbs. But as usual, your mileage may vary.
